What is a nickname?
If you are familiar with computers, you have probably noticed that computers tend to give short 'names' to virtually anything. For instance, you refer to word processor documents by 'filenames'.
PopMessenger operates in a similar manner. 'Nicknames' are used to identify people on the network. You would use a nickname to address the particular person (e.g. for sending him a message).
To avoid difficulties, only one person can use a particular name at a time on a network.
By default, PopMessenger uses your computer name (taken from 'Network Neighborhood') and random numbers as your nickname. However you can change it easily.
How do I change my nickname?
Put the mouse cursor in the edit field under 'Your nickname' label. Edit your nickname and press the [Enter] button on your keyboard.
